The W. P. Carey School of Business is one of the largest business schools in the United States. It is expanding access to business education, while preparing tomorrow’s leaders with the excellent training necessary for success in a competitive marketplace. W. P. Carey School is distinguished by accomplished faculty members, such as Prof. Edward Prescott, winner of the 2004 Nobel Prize in economics.
The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts offers majors in music, architecture, dance, theater, design, visual art and film, requiring both a mastery of discipline and the development of creative expression. The Herberger Institute encompasses seven schools, each devoted to its own creative discipline. A flourishing community of more than 5,000 undergraduate students provides unlimited opportunities to develop creative connections. The institute presents more than 1,000 cultural arts performances and events each year, many of which are free.
The Mary Lou Fulton Institute and Graduate School of Education focuses principally on graduate education and research and is consistently ranked among the top-rated, research-extensive institutions in the nation. The Education Institute provides unique opportunities for understanding the influence of culture on teaching, learning and scholarship. Its research seeks to develop and apply knowledge that is innovative, transformational and responsive to the world’s most pressing problems.
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering provide vibrant and entrepreneurial environments that emphasize focused education and use-inspired research. More than 4,000 engineering undergraduates in five academic schools find solutions to society’s biggest challenges in areas such as electronic systems, transportation, energy, infrastructure and sustainability.
The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication is located at the center of the nation’s 12thlargest media market, placing its 1,200 undergraduate and graduate students closer to more major media outlets than at any other journalism school in the country. The school’s six-story, 235,733-square-foot building includes seven digital computer labs, seven working newsrooms, two television studios and a 150-seat auditorium.
The Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law is setting a new path for law and legal education in the U.S. The college has a large, nationally acclaimed faculty with a tradition of high standards in both teaching and research. About half of the faculty has advanced degrees in disciplines other than law.
The School of Letters and Sciences offers general and interdisciplinary studies, ideal for students with a wide range of interests. The programs are flexible, allowing students to build on a foundation in the humanities, social sciences, mathematics, sciences and professional fields. Students can choose two disciplines from more than 100 possibilities and connect them with course work focused on interdisciplinary inquiry.
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is where students major in changing the world. Whether a student’s interest lies in the humanities, social sciences or natural sciences, the college opens eyes and minds and doors. Starting as freshmen, students can work side-by-side with ASU faculty members and graduate students in a range of research venues — more than 25 centers and institutes, including the Institute of Human Origins, the Biodesign Institute, the Institute for Humanities Research and the Center for Social Dynamics and Complexity.

Barrett, The Honors College, located on all four ASU campuses, provides a learning community with unique opportunities and lots of personal attention. Honors students come from all academic areas; what they share is a commitment to academic excellence. Barrett students regularly win prestigious awards such as the Truman, Rhodes, Marshall, Goldwater and Fulbright scholarships.

The Honors College nine-acre complex on the Tempe campus houses both classrooms and living spaces, along with faculty and staff offices — giving students nearby access to professors, advisors and staff members. This high-tech site encompasses five courtyards.
The New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences has a diverse curriculum that offers students the opportunity to design an individual course of study, to explore an interdisciplinary major, or to enroll in a more traditional liberal arts and sciences program. Students synthesize their learning through internships and field experience, providing ideal preparation for success in an interconnected world.
ASU’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation has an interdisciplinary environment focused on research, innovation and study in nutrition, exercise and wellness and nursing. These interconnected programs focus on a more holistic approach to healthy living. Research Center is identifying behaviors and lifestyles that contribute to disease. With more than 600 community partnerships, the college gives students valuable opportunities to learn from seasoned professionals in the workplace. Established more than 50 years ago, the college is now Arizona’s largest supplier of nurses with bachelor’s degrees and advanced-practice nursing degrees.
The College of Public Programs looks at the big picture to solve social challenges, which are often too complex to be solved by just one discipline. Students and faculty members from the Schools of Community Resources and Development, Criminology and Criminal Justice, Public Affairs, and Social Work collaborate and share ideas, approaching problems from all angles. Interdisciplinary centers form the foundation for research.
The School of Sustainability offers a unique transdisciplinary degree program that advances practical solutions to pressing environmental, economic and social challenges. Resources are available to support sustainability initiatives in areas such as international development, policy and governance, economics, ecosystems, food systems, climate change and energy, materials and technology.
The College of Teacher Education and Leadership offers programs on all campuses. More than 5,500 students are enrolled. With many academic paths available for teachers-in-training, students can specialize in the area that fits their interests and professional goals. The college’s initiatives include Professional Development Schools, which are on-site teacher preparation programs that recruit teachers from underprivileged areas and help them succeed as teachers in their hometowns.
The College of Technology and Innovation has a dynamic, creative environment where students engage in hands-on learning in innovative laboratories and classrooms. Through projects and internships, students are prepared to carry their knowledge and industry connections into their professional lives. The college focuses on applied studies, with faculty members bringing a rich mix of experiences from the engineering industry. Students follow a broad, rigorous interdisciplinary program and have a team-based project course in all semesters of study, where they apply fundamental knowledge to solve a significant problem. More than 2,000 students are enrolled.
ASU’s University College offers opportunities for students to explore their talents and help them to achieve their goals. Located on all campuses, instructors and advisors help students identify majors and careers that build on their interests, and create a plan of action. Students learn key skills for career success through workshops and counseling.
